At about 4:30pm today Rayquan Frison, 18, surrendered at the Putnam County Jail. He is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.
ORIGINAL POST: SATURDAY SHOOTING DEATH UPDATE
July 29, 2019 - Putnam County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating an early Saturday morning homicide in Hawthorne. At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday deputies responded to a residence at 125 Thistle Trail and found two men with gunshot wounds.
Lanoris Emanuel Gilmore, 28, of Ocala was taken to Putnam Community Medical Center by ambulance and was pronounced deceased by medical staff. Darius Dante Gilmore, 20, of Hawthorne was taken to a Gainesville hospital for gunshot wounds to both legs. He is currently listed in satisfactory condition. Lanoris Gilmore’s death is considered a homicide.
Witnesses said the men, who are brothers, were shot outside the residence. Darius Gilmore lives at residence. There is no known motive, but the incident is believed to be isolated. A person of interest is identified, but the name is currently withheld as detectives continue their investigation.
On Saturday, detectives released information on a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting. That information was determined to be unreliable and the search for the vehicle was canceled for Putnam and Alachua counties.
