CHIEF DEPUTY DAVID
BLOUNT
Undersheriff
The Chief Deputy is the Sheriff’s principal leadership team member for directing, coordinating, supervising, and training the members of the Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Deputy Blount was appointed by Sheriff DeLoach on Oct, 1, 2024.
Chief Deputy Blount began his career in 2011 and has held many positions while serving Putnam County residents including team leader of SWAT, chief bailiff for the Putnam County Courthouse, drug unit commander and special operations commander.
MAJOR JOHNNY
GREENWOOD
Administrative Services Director
Major Johnny Greenwood began his career with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office in 1994. He is a graduate of Crescent City High School and earned his A.S. Degree from St. Johns River State College. He later earned a B.S. Degree in Public Administration from Flagler College.
Beginning as a road deputy, Major Greenwood has since served as a detective in property crimes, drug/vice and major crimes. He has overseen training and accreditation, been the public information officer and has served as the supervisor for the Office of Public Standards.

USSERY
Law Enforcement Director
Major Ussery began his career in February 2003 as a Patrol Deputy. Over the course of his more than 20 years of dedicated service, Major Ussery has worked in numerous departments and held leadership roles across various specialized units.
Major Ussery was awarded the Sheriff’s Medal of Valor—an honor not easily earned. This award stemmed from an incredibly dangerous situation involving multiple kidnapped individuals, including children. During the incident, Major Ussery was struck in the magazine and ballistic vest by a round. Fortunately, he was not injured and continued efforts to rescue the remaining hostages. His courage under fire and unwavering commitment to protecting others is the very definition of valor.
MAJOR CLAYTON
SILVA
Corrections Director
Major Clayton Silva has served in all capacities at the Putnam County Jail, beginning as a corrections deputy. In 2020 he was promoted to Captain and oversaw inmate work teams, inmate programs and medical.
In 2024, he was promoted to major and assumed supervision of all aspects of corrections.
