PUTNAM SHERIFF ENGAGING LOCAL RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS

June 5, 2019 - Sheriff DeLoach talks to members of the Central Putnam Ministerial Association as well as pastors, ministers and leaders of various Putnam County religious institutions about a new emergency notification system we are now using with faith-based organizations.

The meeting was held in one of the program room

s at the Putnam County Jail, and while we could say our audience was a captive one, the goal was to open up extra lines of communication with our community's religious leaders.

We also want to continue an open dialogue with all of our religious entities on a quarterly basis to discuss not only threat assessments at their place of worship, but also programs offered at the jail and helping those released from jail find a safe harbor and support.

Anyone who is a minister, pastor, member of a vestry, board chair for a religious organization that was unable to attend the meeting but would like more information on our next meeting in October or would like to sign up for our new alert system is asked to contact Master Deputy Denis Jones at 386-326-7253.
