DETECTIVES FOIL FOUR-WHEELING BURGLAR IN WEST PUTNAM

Last month Justin Eugene Dunn, 28, of Interlachen went on a crime spree taking items that did not belong to him from three west Putnam addresses.

The first case involved the theft of a four-wheeler and a dirt bike. The dirt bike was later recovered after it was abandoned. A second case involved a stolen side-by-side. The third case occurred at the Vulcan sand plant and involved the theft of a washer and dryer.

Detectives determined Dunn was using the Vulcan property to transport some of his ill-gotten goods by cutting a barbwire fence to access the property. Detectives were able to follow tracks to an area where Dunn was keeping some of the items. A search warrant was obtained for that address and detectives were able to recover some of the stolen items.

Dunn was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail. He was charged with two counts of grand theft and one county of burglary. He is being held without bond for failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge.
